New “Red Lounge” Hostel opens in Niagara Falls, New York

Hostelling International USA is pleased to announce the opening of a new hostel in Niagara Falls, New York! The hostel has been christened the Red Lounge and, as the name suggests, welcomes guests into its reception area with bright red walls and an inviting atmosphere.   

The Red Lounge Hostel offers shared dorm-style rooms, private rooms, and fully equipped apartments with private kitchen and bathroom facilities — a unique hostel feature for travelers who want a little extra privacy. Amenities include 24-hour concierge service, wireless Internet access, luggage storage, and housekeeping and laundry services.

The wide array of activities available for hostel guests range from boating, rafting, canoeing, fishing, hiking, and birding, as well as traditional hostel events such as pub crawls, wine cellar tours, and evenings on the town.

Situated less than a mile from Niagara Falls State Park, the Red Lounge’s biggest attraction is its proximity to one of the most popular wonders of the natural world, Niagara Falls. Hostel guests can practically feel Niagara’s famous mists the moment they walk out the front door.

Niagara Falls is the collective name for a group of waterfalls in an area that straddles both sides of the U.S.-Canadian border. Formed over 10,000 years ago during the last ice age, Niagara Falls has the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world.
