Nonprofit groups are welcome at the Sacramento Hostel, which offers both overnight accommodations and meeting/event space for weddings, conferences, retreats, reunions, and other special events.
Housed in a beautifully restored Gold Rush-era mansion on Sacramento's Merchant Row, the hostel is a favorite both for private events, and with groups who have business at the State Capitol, just a few blocks away.
The hostel is also popular with school and youth groups visiting the nearby historic sites, or taking advantage of the tailored intercultural programming provided by our Hostel Adventure Program staff.
The hostel has several rooms available for meetings, workshops, or special events. For outdoor events, groups can take advantage of the wrap-around veranda, landscaped gardens, and patio with fountain, barbecue, and umbrella tables.
Some equipment is available, including an overhead projector, television, and VCR.
Groups may choose to bring their own food to prepare, or have it delivered by a local grocery store or caterer.
The hostel has a spacious, fully equipped kitchen and a large dining room (complete with chandelier!). For outdoor dining, a patio with umbrella tables and barbecue is available.
The Sacramento Hostel offers tailored intercultural programming for a wide range of schools, scout troops, and other groups, including World Travel 101, Cultural Kitchen, the Community Walls mural project, and Girl Scouts badge work. For details, please see the Programs section of the Golden Gate Council website.
