Call for Entries: “World’s Unluckiest Traveler” Contest
Posted by admin on Jan 15, 2010

Have you ever booked an idyllic beachfront vacation, only to wind up trapped in an undiscovered quicksand pit? Wrecked your rental car after a rogue pelican left a sudden "deposit" on the windshield? Had a rickshaw excursion abruptly halted when the driver suddenly contracted athlete’s foot?
If you’ve ever experienced a one-of-a-kind travel travail, been the victim of a startling vacation mishap, or simply been an unwilling participant in a downright strange occurrence during your travels, your story could make you the winner of a Flip MinoHD camcorder or a $10,000 vacation from Travel Guard.
Share your unlucky travel tale in 200 words or less, and upload it with an accompanying video or photo series to the contest website, and you’ll be automatically entered into the year-long contest and monthly drawings for prizes. You can also win by logging into the website and voting for your favorite entry.
Each month, Travel Guard will give away two Flip MinoHD camcorders — one to the entry that receives the most votes, and one to a randomly selected person who votes for the winning entry. At the end of the year, each of the monthly winners will be posted for a final round of voting to decide the winner of the $10,000 "ultimate dream vacation." In addition, one randomly selected person who votes for the winning entry will also win a $10,000 dream vacation prize.
The contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (excluding Maine) who are 21 and older, and residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who are over the age of majority in their province/territory, at the time of entry.
