The Point Reyes Hostel is a rustic retreat on the site of a historic ranch, and is the only lodging available within Point Reyes National Seashore.
Our hostel is divided into three buildings: the historic Ranch House and Bunkhouse offer shared rooms, while our new LEED Gold-certified building offers four private rooms.
Shared rooms are dormitory-style (meaning bunk beds), and sleep 8-10 people per room. Both co-ed and gender-specific rooms are available.
Private rooms have a Houston bed (a double bed with a single bunk above), plus a set of bunk beds. They can accommodate up to 5 people per room. Private rooms are very popular, so try to book far in advance, especially for weekend stays.
All three hostel buildings boast comfortable common rooms with beautiful park views. Outdoors, the covered porch, brick patio with gas grill, and picnic area are popular spots to relax. Our self-service kitchens and dining rooms are fully equipped with stoves, ovens, microwaves, pots and pans, dishes, and ample refrigerator/freezer space. Of course, our favorite common area is the backyard (which just happens to be a National Park).
Because we're located in the middle of a National Park, cell phone signals don't reach the hostel. We do have an internet terminal available for rent, but we hope guests will embrace the spirit of our wilderness retreat and enjoy being unplugged!
