Come on, feel the Noise Pop (Feb. 24 - Mar. 1)

Noise Pop is San Francisco’s leading independent music festival, showcasing nationally known indie rock, electronic, punk, and cutting-edge musical artists, as well as the best local bands.

Going 17 years strong, this year’s festival boasts more than 80 bands and solo artists at venues around the city, including Bob Mould, St. Vincent, Martha Wainwright, Clues, Kool Keith, Ra Ra Riot, Antony and the Johnsons, The Submarines, and many, many more.

Some of the biggest bands in America played Noise Pop earlier in their careers, including The White Stripes, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, The Shins, Silversun Pickups, The Flaming Lips, and The Decemberists.

Noise Pop also includes a film festival, screening music documentaries and videos that embrace and reflect independent music and culture. This year’s offerings include Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, Gogol Bordello Non-Stop: A Gypsy-Punk Documentary, and Seven Signs: Music, Myth, and the American South.

The festivities also include "Pop ‘n’ Shop," Noise Pop’s local indie designer trunk sale and rock poster show; "Industry Noise," a one-day conference on indie music, technology, and the changing industry; and three gallery art shows including "The Art of Noise Pop: A Retrospective of Festival Posters, Photos, and Design."
