If you think a Las Vegas vacation may be out of your budget, think again. Though "Sin City" is best known for its luxury resorts and high-profile casinos, there’s still plenty of ways for a budget traveler to get in on a bit of the action… one of them being the new HI-Las Vegas Hostel.
Formerly the Tod Motor Motel, the hostel is located on the famous Las Vegas Strip, and is just a five-minute ride (or 15-minute walk) to the heart of the non-stop action.
Offering 120 beds in shared dorm rooms, the air-conditioned hostel provides guests with a self-catering kitchen, common rooms (including a large-screen TV room), an outdoor swimming pool, and a BBQ.
Amenities include free parking, free linen service, internet access, 24-hour reception, lockers, 24-hour free pick up/drop off from the Greyhound station, and a shuttle to/from the Las Vegas airport (LAS) three times a day.
Spend your afternoons lounging beside the hostel’s swimming pool, then head out with your fellow hostellers on an organized club or casino crawl. Or, take part in one of the hostel’s evening activities, such as poker nights, karaoke singing, or Guitar Hero tournaments. The hostel also provides access to organized tours to desert landmarks such as the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
Starting at just $19 a night, you’ll have plenty of cash left over to spend on Vegas’ world-class dining, shopping, and entertainment. As long as you don’t lose it all in the casinos!
