100th Anniversary Party at the Point Reyes Hostel (August 23)

Dust off your picnic basket, grab something to throw on the grill, and head over to the Point Reyes Hostel for a BYO picnic to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the hostelling movement and the 75th anniversary of Hostelling International USA.

On Sunday, August 23, the hostel is opening its doors to the public and firing up the barbecues for an afternoon of good food, free beverages, live music, and prize giveaways.

Pack your own lunch, or bring ingredients to whip something up in the hostel's fully equipped kitchen or grill on the patio barbecues. Enjoy free Lagunitas beer and organic lemonade, and finish off your meal with a complimentary It's It ice cream sandwich.

While you munch, enjoy the sounds of the "siren folk metal quartet" Pink Sabbath, performing from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Playing on an eclectic mix of accordion, violin, guitar, and bass, this four-gal/three-part harmony band performs original songs along with some heavy metal favorites. The band features Pinky Pfeiffadero on guitar, Lady Pinkwick on accordion, flute, and melodica, Magenta on bass, and Marisa Martinez on violin and mandolin.

In addition to the prize giveaways at the event, partygoers can also enter to win an Anniversary Week Grand Prize Package, which includes:
