Escape to a beautiful lighthouse location, perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, just 25 miles south of San Francisco.
The rugged California coast is a dramatic and breathtaking setting, and our hostel is a relaxing retreat for travelers of any age.
Our hostel is made up of 3 buildings -- the main house, the annex, and the fog signal building -- that sit on a bluff, just above the Pacific. Each building includes a mix of shared rooms and private rooms.
Shared rooms are dormitory-style (meaning bunk beds), and sleep 3-6 people per room. Both co-ed and gender-specific rooms are available.
Private rooms have a double bed or a Houston bed (a double bed with a single bunk above), and sleep 1-3 people. Private rooms are very popular, so try to book far in advance, especially for weekend stays.
Both the main house and the fog signal building have cozy common rooms with wood stoves, where guests can relax and socialize. Outdoors, enjoy our secluded cove beach, blufftop vista point, and native plant garden.
Our two spacious, self-service kitchens and dining rooms have ocean views, and are fully equipped with stoves, ovens, microwaves, pots and pans, dishes, and ample refrigerator/freezer space. When the weather's good, opt for al fresco dining on our outdoor patio with picnic tables and barbecue. Our on-site espresso bar, Hostel Grounds, serves fair-trade organic coffee from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
We offer free WiFi in the common room of the main house, as well as an internet terminal for rent.
“Perched dramatically on cliffs, offering a vista that you will be hard pressed to find in any five-star hotel.”
