Features

The Marin Headlands Hostel is your ticket to breathtaking vistas and trails that lead from creekside to mountainside, open meadow to crashing surf.

Guest Rooms

Our hostel is divided into two houses -- the Main House and the Annex -- and offers a mix of shared rooms and private rooms.

Shared rooms are dormitory-style (meaning bunk beds) and sleep up to 8 people, in gender-specific rooms. We also have one co-ed room, which sleeps up to 23.

Private rooms have a Houston bed (double bed with a single bunk above) and sleep 1-3 people. Private rooms are very popular, so try to book far in advance, especially for weekend stays.

Common Areas

The Main House has a large, comfortable common room with a woodstove, piano, and an assortment of books and games. On the lower level there's a yoga room as well as a rec room with a pool table, foosball, ping pong, and TV/DVD.

The Annex has a charming living room with original tin ceilings, woodwork, and fireplace tiles, as well as a covered porch that looks out across a meadow. The self-serve kitchen and dining room are likewise fully equipped.

Both buildings have a self-serve kitchens and dining rooms, fully equipped with stoves, ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, and ample refrigerator/freezer space. A shaded picnic area and barbecue are available for outdoor dining. You'll want to stock up on supplies before arriving at the hostel, since there are no stores or restaurants within the park. The nearest options are 5 miles away, in Sausalito or San Francisco.

Because we're located in the middle of a National Park, cell phone signals don't reach the hostel. We do have an internet terminal available for rent, but we hope guests will embrace the spirit of their park getaway and enjoy being unplugged!
