The Point Reyes Hostel and the Redwood National Park Hostel are both pleased to announce that they have expanded their hours to offer day access to guests, through October 31. Registered guests will have access to the hostels at any time of the day, to have lunch, peruse the library, or enjoy the hostel common areas. These expanded hours apply every day of the week at the Redwood Hostel, and on Saturdays and Sundays at the Point Reyes Hostel.
For the first time in 13 years, the Whaler's Cove beach adjacent to the Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel is again accessible to the public, thanks to years of effort by the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST).
World Nomads is seeking applicants for a Video Documentary Scholarship, which offers one college student a one-week trip to Kenya where s/he will work with a professional filmmaker to create a video documentary on the theme of community project travel. The winner will also receive a travel video pack from Lonely Planet, which includes a Sony HDR-HC5 video camera.
