Resources for Girl Scouts
Hostelling International USA and Girl Scouts USA have collaborated since the 1930s when our hostels began to provide Girl Scouts with fun and educational travel opportunities. Together we have helped generations of girls build life skills and promote understanding.
Every year, hundreds of Girl Scout troops choose Hostelling International for a safe, clean, and fun base for a group trip, Service Unit event, or STUDIO 2B destination, or as a way to earn Girl Scout badges and patches.
Created through a partnership between Hostelling International and Girl Scouts, the Discover the World patch combines Travel Education workshops with an overnight hostel stay. For more, please see Travel Education workshops.
In addition, all four types of Hostel Adventures—Outdoor Hostel Adventures, Cultural Kitchen, Community Walls, and Travel Education workshops—include activities that can be applied toward earning a variety Girl Scouts patches and badges. Download Patches and Badges for Girl Scouts Using Hostels (PDF) for a list of opportunities.
