Outdoor Hostel Adventures

For nearly a century, the international hostel movement has gathered people of the world together in an atmosphere of friendship and respect, expanding their worlds through educational travel.

HI USA hostels across the country promote interaction among travelers, provide a sense of place, increase awareness of the natural world, and encourage cross-cultural understanding and international friendship. With HI USA's Outdoor Hostel Adventure (OHA) program, youth grades K-12 can get an early introduction to the many benefits of travel and hostelling, right here in the Bay Area.

OHA offers naturalist-led environmental education programs that are interactive and experiential for groups and their adult chaperones. Perfect for Girl and Boy Scout troops, class field trips, community youth organizations, and other groups, our adaptable curriculum encourages curiosity and exploration of our natural world. Participants leave with a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility, their own communities, and other cultures around the world.

The HI USA Experience

Our mission is to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling.
