Most hostels offer both shared and private rooms, and some offer family rooms and/or en-suite bathrooms. Groups usually opt to stay in dorm-style rooms with bunk beds, though most locations have some twin and queen bed options. For larger groups, many hostels offer rentals of an entire house for exclusive use.
Most hostels have meeting/event rooms as well as outdoor patios or park/beach areas that groups can use for private functions. Some hostels also offer audiovisual equipment rental.
Hostels enable groups to save money by preparing their own meals in fully equipped kitchens. Your group can bring or arrange delivery of groceries and share communal meals in the dining room (most of our hostels also have outdoor dining/barbecue areas if you prefer).
Kitchens are equipped with appliances and ample refrigerator/freezer space, as well as pots and pans, dishes, and utensils.
Some groups opt to hire a caterer, though it may not be practical at wilderness locations. If you're visiting San Francisco, we can provide catering and/or box lunches. San Francisco guests can also take advantage of the free continental breakfast served daily.
All of our hostels have furnished common rooms for guests to unwind and socialize. It's a good place to write postcards, break out your maps and guidebooks, and strike up conversations with other guests.
Many common rooms have board games, library/book swap, computers for Internet access, free WiFi, TV and DVDs, wood stove/fireplace, and/or foosball/pool tables.
A special request for exclusive use and/or day use is like having your own hotel conference space to do as you please--only better because it costs a lot less! We are happy to help you facilitate special activities or events on hostel grounds, from retreats and conferences to private social gatherings, in indoor and outdoor venues with breathtaking scenic views.
Because each of our properties is unique, group accommodations and amenities vary from location to location. Please link to each hostel's website for more information about group stays:
