Benefits

Hostelling International is the recommended hostelling network in the world. All HI hostels offer low-cost, overnight accommodations that meet high standards for quality and service plus the following features:

HI Quality Guarantee
In order to be licensed as a Hostelling International hostel, a facility has to meet specific quality standards in terms of facilities, cleanliness and customer service. That means that when you see the blue triangle logo, it has already been inspected to make sure you have a safe and comfortable stay.

Accommodations

Most hostels offer shared and private rooms and some offer family or en-suite rooms . Configurations vary from location to location; call the hostel for specific accommodations.

    • Beds:Usually bunk beds
    • Total:Typically five people
    • Furniture:Basic furniture and lockers for storing luggage
    • Pillows/blankets:Provided free of charge
    • Linens:Provided free or for a nominal rental fee
    • Prohibited:Sleeping bags

Dorm-Style Rooms
Groups typically select gender-specific rooms with separate communal bathrooms for men and women. Many hostels now offer mixed-gender dorms.

Some hostels have a very limited number of private rooms for families, couples and groups.

Common Rooms

Meeting Space
Rooms accommodate small groups of eight and large groups up to 40 people. Many hostels also have smaller breakout rooms for focus groups.

    • Ample parking for cars and buses
    • Most hostels are wheelchair accessible

Kitchens
Hostels allow travelers to save lots of money by preparing their own meals in fully equipped kitchens. All our guests have to do is buy the ingredients. Kitchens are also a great place to meet other like-minded travelers from all over.

Common Rooms
All hostels have one or more furnished common rooms for guests to unwind and socialize. It's a good place to write postcards, break out your maps and guidebooks and strike up conversations with other guests. Some may even have:

Exclusive and Day Use

A special request for exclusive or day use is like having your own hotel space to do as you please, only better because it costs a lot less.

We are happy to help you facilitate any special activities or events on hostel grounds, from retreats to private gatherings, in indoor and outdoor venues with breathtaking scenic views.

    • In most cases our hostels are available at a $100 daily rate
    • Exclusive use includes the daily rate plus a surcharge to guarantee
      there are no guests on hostel grounds during your event
