The Presidio: 233 Years of History

Join a San Francisco Historical Society docent on a two-hour walk through San Francisco's Presidio, and learn about the Spanish/Mexican eras and U.S. Army occupation of this historic site.

Also, hear about the activities of the National Park Service and the Presidio Trust since the U.S. Army transferred the Presidio to the Golden Gate National Recreational Area in 1994.

The tour ends at Crissy Field on the northern edge of the Presidio along the Bay shoreline. For those with extra time and interest, the walk might extend to Fort Point, the 1861 brick fortress under the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Tour limited to 25 attendees; reserve by September 17 by calling (415) 537-1105, ext. 100.
