Kings Mountain Art Fair
September 4 - September 6
Spend the day in the redwoods at the 46th Annual Kings Mountain Art Fair this Labor Day Weekend. Located near Woodside, the fair brings together 135 jury-selected artists and an additional 25 "mountain folk" local artists for a three-day art show and sale among the big trees.
Kings Mountain is one of the most selectively juried events of its kind in the Bay Area, which ensures the show is balanced across categories -- oil paintings, watercolor, serigraph, sculpture, collage, photography, unique jewelry, wearable art, hand-crafted toys, heirloom furniture, art glass, quilts, hand-forged tools, weathervanes, and more -- and that there are wonderful items available in all price ranges. Because of the tranquil outdoor setting and non-commercial purpose of the fair, Kings Mountain also attracts a number of artists who appear nowhere else.
The glorious setting of a redwood forest provides a unique day of outdoor leisure and quality art. There are no sound stages, only Celtic harp music from "artists' hollow," and hiking trails surrounding the site. For the little ones, a "kiddie hollow" area entertains children with supervised creative activities, including spin art, glitter, games, and reading.
Full breakfast with the artists under the redwoods is served from 8 to 10:30 a.m.; lunch, beverages, and other snacks are also available.
