Kick off summer at San Francisco's neighborhood street fairs

San Francisco loves a street party any time of the year, but June is especially rich with free, weekend festivals where visitors can revel in the distinct cultural and culinary traditions of the city's diverse neighborhoods. From the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair to the Fillmore Jazz Festival, North Beach to Union Street, be there when San Franciscans come out to celebrate the city's most beloved 'hoods.

San Francisco celebrates queer pride!

Every year at the beginning of June, 500 rainbow flags are hoisted the length of Market Street and San Francisco explodes with queerness. For a city known as the gay mecca for the other 11 months of the year, June is Queer Heaven. The energy reaches a crescendo the last weekend in June with the official San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade.
