Reservations

The reservations process varies by hostel location. We recommend making your reservations at least two months in advance.

HI Marin Headlands

Step 1: Contact the group sales office to book your accommodations. Call 1 (877) 464-6783 or submit your request online.
Step 2: Once your group has a confirmed hostel reservation, call 1 (415) 940-7113 to schedule your Outdoor Hostel Adventure (OHA) program. You may also submit your program request online, and we will contact you.

HI Point Montara Lighthouse

To book your accommodations and schedule your program, please submit your request online and a staff person will contact you. If you prefer to contact us by phone, please call 1 (650) 728-7177.

HI Point Reyes

Programs Without Accommodations

To schedule your program without accommodations, call 1 (415) 940-7113. You may also submit your program request online, and we will contact you.

Reservation Confirmations
If the dates that you have requested are available, you will receive an email with an invoice for your Outdoor Hostel Adventure (OHA) program. A deposit (50% of total program fees) is required to secure your reservation. Please note that your reservation is not confirmed until we receive your deposit.


Changes/Cancellations

Note: The policies below apply only to program reservations. For hostel accommodations, a different change/cancellation policy applies.

Changing Your Reservation
Because group trips and educational programs require careful planning and special arrangements, changing the number of people in your group on short notice significantly impacts our program.

For this reason, we must require groups to give an accurate estimate of the number of students and chaperones. Please determine your final group numbers before confirming your reservation.

If you need to add people to your group after your reservation has been confirmed, and space is available, the following fees will be applied in addition to regular program fees:

  • $5/person (if added 21 days or more prior to arrival date)
  • $10/person (if added less than 21 days before arrival date)

If you want to subtract people from your group, you must do so at least 14 days prior to your arrival date, and the following fees will be applied in addition to regular program fees:

  • $5/person (if subtracted 21 days or more prior to arrival date)
  • $10/person (if subtracted 14-20 days prior to arrival date)
  • Please note that reducing the number of people in your group is not possible less than 14 days prior to your arrival date; you will be held responsible for full payment of the total program fees due on your original reservation.

Canceling Your Reservation
When we hold your reservation, we turn away other groups as well as individual travelers at our hostels. For this reason, the following cancellation policies apply to all Outdoor Hostel Adventure (OHA) reservations:

  • Cancellations made 21 days or more prior to your arrival date:
    Hostelling International will retain 50% of your deposit plus a $75 administrative fee.
  • Cancellations made 14-20 days prior to your arrival date:
    Hostelling International will retain 100% of your deposit.
  • Cancellations made 0-13 days prior to your arrival date:
    You will be held responsible for full payment of the total program fees due for the dates reserved.
